My Priorities
Educational Enhancement
Create an environment offering motivation, acceleration options and individualized learning that will help all children succeed, improve the graduation rate, reduce dropouts, and close the achievement gap.
Fiscal Accountability
In the face of budget cuts ensure that the SCUSD’s fiscal management stays focused on educational opportunity and success for our students. Minimize the negative financial impact at the schools and ensure that financial constraints are not limited to staff reduction and elimination of vital programs.
School Safety
Create, maintain and enhance the physical and emotional safety of all students and staff and the security of all facilities.
Effective Choice Options
Ensure high quality, cost effective programs to offer options to students and keep them motivated. Evaluate under-utilized schools and establish other programs to create high-tech, high-wage career alternatives for both college and non-college bound students.
Staff Effectiveness
Ensure highly effective instructional, administrative and support staff to facilitate student and school success at every site. Create a positive learning environment, in which every student will have highly qualified teachers and every school will have qualified and effective leadership.
Parent and Community Involvement
Create and maintain active partnerships with parents and community groups to support student achievement, school initiatives and shared decision making. Ensure a positive learning environment in all schools by continuing to engage and involve parents and guardians. By keeping them knowledgeable of their child’s successes and struggles, they will be better able to reinforce their child’s efforts and celebrate their accomplishments
